County Fair: A Country Hits Musical
County Fair: A Country Hits Musical
By Taylor Ferrera and Matthew Webster. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. (www.concordtheatricals.com) After the death of their father, two sisters, Claudia and DJ Stratford, return home to deal with their inheritance: a massive and beloved county fair in rural Georgia. Thinking that this could be the cash windfall that they desperately seek, the sisters plan to sell off the land to the highest bidder, then high tail it back to civilization. But when Claudia starts to fall in love with the fair, the townsfolk and an over-apologetic board member, her heart leads her away from her sister and down a path she’s unprepared for. Needing the money to pay off a large, secret gambling debt, DJ must do whatever it takes to sell the fair – even if that means sabotaging her sister’s new romantic relationship. Betrayals, imposters and mistaken identity lead to sister battling sister in a winner-take-all Messina County Dixie Derby competition to save the fair. Show Dates: July 17-26, 2026, Cast: 9w, 5m, 10 w/m, plus ensemble Auditions: May 3 & 4, 2026

Play On!
Auditions: July 5 & 6, 2026
Play On!: (Comedy) By Rick Abbott. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. (www.concordtheatricals.com) This is the hilarious story of a theatre group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty author who keeps revising the script. Act I is a rehearsal of the dreadful show, Act II is the near disastrous dress rehearsal, and the final act is the actual performance, in which anything that can go wrong, does. When the author decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre during the curtain calls, the audience is treated to a madcap climax and a thoroughly hilarious romp.

The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.

Farce of Habit
Auditions: March 8 & 9, 2027
Farce of Habit: (Comedy) By Jones Hope Wooten. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. (www.concordtheatricals.com) An absurdly funny Southern-fried romp takes us back to the “Reel ’Em Inn,” the finest little fishing lodge in the Ozarks. The proprietor, D. Gene Wilburn, is looking forward to a peaceful weekend on the lake. But there are only two chances of that happening: slim and none. Why, for example, has his wife, Wanelle, picked these three days to white-knuckle her way through caffeine withdrawal? Why is his son Ty’s marriage to Jenna falling apart so fast? Could it have something to do with the French Cancan costume Ty is wearing? How on earth would D. Gene’s feisty sister, Maxie, allow herself to get caught up in such a bizarre undercover police assignment? And that’s just his family. If this isn’t enough to thwart D. Gene’s weekend plans, he’s got a gaggle of nuns who’ve converged on the Inn, hell-bent on experiencing a nature retreat – which might be tolerable if D. Gene didn’t have a chronic fear of anything in a habit. Add to this the presence of Jock McNair, a nationally known relationship guru whose colossal ego threatens everyone’s sanity; a shy retiree anxious to cut loose and embrace his “inner caveman” and a couple of wild women who may or may not be who they claim to be. Throw in the storm of the century that’s fast bearing down on nearby Mayhew, and D. Gene has no prayer of baiting a hook any time soon. Oh, and did he mention there’s an axe murderer on the loose?
