Who We Are
The Backlot Players, Inc. is a not-for-profit community theater housed in the historic Rose Theater on the square in Forsyth, GA. We have been providing quality theater productions to Monroe County and the surrounding areas since 1994. We also host movies and live music, even nationally renowned recording artists such as Suzy Bogguss and John Berry. We have recently been able to complete some extensive renovations to the theater thanks to the support of our loyal members, volunteers, and patrons!
The mission of The Backlot Players is to produce theater of the highest caliber, to enlist regional talent through open auditions, to educate youth and adults in all aspects of theater, and to provide opportunities for and encourage participation by volunteers, thus enriching the artistic and cultural base of Monroe County and surrounding areas.
