Who We Are
The Backlot Players, Inc. is a not-for-profit community theater housed in the historic Rose Theater on the square in Forsyth, GA. We have been providing quality theater productions to Monroe County and the surrounding areas since 1994. We also host movies and live music, even nationally renowned recording artists such as Suzy Bogguss and John Berry. We have recently been able to complete some extensive renovations to the theater thanks to the support of our loyal members, volunteers, and patrons! Click here for more about our history.

Some of our youth productions from recent years include: Godspell, A Family Reunion to Die For, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Pippin, Little Women, A Family Reunion to Die For, Bye Bye Birdie, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

The Children's Theater Troupe is a group of adults who put together theatrical productions to present to local school children. The children get a field trip from school to The Rose Theater to see familiar stories brought to life. Some recent productions include Rumpelstiltskin, The Tortoise and the Hare, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
